Meet the Team
David Miller FCCA
Founding partner of Miller Roskell in 2003.
David has over 35 years' experience in the accountancy profession having worked in practice since leaving school.
He has gained a wide range of expertise whilst dealing with all sizes of businesses ranging from sole traders to audits of plc groups with turnover up to £150m.
In his spare time, he enjoys walking, cycling and live music events.
Kevin Roskell BA(Hons); FCCA
Founding partner of Miller Roskell in 2003.
Kevin has over 25 years' experience in the accountancy profession having worked in practice since gaining his Accountancy and Finance degree.
He has gained a wide breadth of experience over the years dealing with clients ranging from sole traders up to multi million pound turnover businesses. Kevin has specific knowledge and experience in the legal profession and the requirements of SRA reporting.
Having enjoyed past successes in football at a local level, Kevin now spends much of his leisure time helping with youth team coaching and administration for his son's team.
Carole Holden FMAAT
Carole joined Miller Roskell in 2005 and gained her AAT membership in 2011.
During her time with Miller Roskell, Carole has gained experience in VAT, accounts preparation and all aspects of payroll and CIS preparation and reporting.
Carole now heads our payroll department having coped admirably with the demands of RTI and Workplace Pensions Automatic Enrolment in recent years.
In her spare time Carole pursues her passion for photography.
Michael Banks (BSc Hons, FCCA)
Partner of Miller Roskell
Michael joined Miller Roskell in 2008 and gained his ACCA membership in 2013.
Michael became a partner of the firm in 2021 and manages a wide variety of clients along with ensuring that the practice runs smoothly as it continues to expand.
In his spare time Michael is a keen sportsman and can often be seen running round the Fylde Coast.
Darren Hodson
Having joined the practice in 2013, Darren heads up the VAT department ensuring the timely preparation and submission of VAT Returns. He has also been responsible for ensuring a smooth transition to Making Tax Digital.
Darren is a keen golfer in his leisure time, but it often takes him longer than planned to complete the round!
Max Coleman ACCA
Max joined Miller Roskell in 2015 and gained his ACCA membership in 2021.
Max has gained experience in all departments of the practice in his time with Miller Roskell and is a valued member of the team, with his primary role being accounts preparation and tax computations, mainly for limited companies.
In his spare time Max enjoys a round of golf with friends and is also an avid football fan.
Caitland Smith
Caitland joined the team in 2017 and is currently studying towards her AAT qualification.
Caitland’s role in the company includes accounts preparation and day to day admin work. She also has experience in the submission of VAT returns and Payroll.
In her spare time Caitland enjoys getting out and about with her dogs and spending time with friends and family.
Paula Roskell
Paula joined Miller Roskell in September 2018 after working as a civil servant for 30 years for the Benefits Agency, Department for Work and Pensions and finally HMRC.
Paula performs company secretarial work and is an integral part of the payroll team where she is the main point of contact for many of our clients.
Away from work she enjoys spending time with her horses, dogs, children and husband… in that order.
Jonathan French (BA Hons, ACCA)
Jonathan joined the team in 2016 and gained his ACCA qualification in 2023.
Jonathan is an economics graduate with over 15 years’ experience within the construction industry.
During his time at Miller Roskell Jonathan has gained experience within VAT, accounts production, business and personal taxes.
In his spare time Jonathan is a keen guitarist.
Lisa Stuart BA(Hons)
Lisa Joined Miller Roskell in 2019 and her primary role is the preparation of accounts and related tax computations but also has an understanding of payroll and VAT.
Lisa has experience of Xero and QuickBooks accounting software and is certified in both.
In her spare time Lisa enjoys watching motorsports and spending time with family.
Curtis Roskell
Curtis joined the team in 2020 and is currently studying towards his AAT qualification.
Curtis is currently gaining experience in our VAT department and is responsible for the submission of clients’ VAT returns.
Away from work, Curtis is a keen footballer and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
Scott Wagster (MAAT)
Scott joined our team at the beginning of 2021 having worked in the accounting profession since 2016. Scott is currently studying and progressing through the ACCA examinations.
During his time working with numbers Scott has gained experience in VAT, payroll, and accounts production for both sole traders and limited companies.
In his spare time Scott can be found DJing in nightclubs and bars across the Fylde Coast.
Gordon Mackie
Gordon joined the team in August 2021, after moving from Glasgow to be closer to family.
Having come from an established Glasgow bookkeeping firm, Gordon brings over a decade of payroll and bookkeeping experience. He is looking forward to gaining a broader practice knowledge with Miller Roskell while studying towards his AAT qualification.
Away from work, Gordon enjoys a good movie with his better half, and walking the dogs on the beach.
Karen Makinson
Karen joined Miller Roskell in 2023 and has been a CIMA member since 2009.
Karen’s primary role is the preparation of accounts and related tax computations.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family and friends and walking her 2 dogs.
Amanda Latham
Amanda joined the team in 2025 and gained her AAT membership in 2013.
Amanda's primary role is the preparation of accounts and related tax computations.
Outside of work Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, going on new adventures.
Steven Latham
Steven joined the team in 2025 and works within the payroll department.
Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, and walking the dog.
Fearne Smith
Fearne joined Miller Roskell in January 2024 and is currently studying towards her AAT qualification.
Fearne is gaining experience in our VAT department preparing and submitting VAT returns using QuickBooks and Excel. Also, she assists in day-to-day admin including filing and scanning.
Away from work, she enjoys going on holiday and spending time with her family.
Gurdas Singh
Gurdas joined the team in 2023 and is currently studying towards his Level 4 AAT qualification.
Gurdas is currently working in our VAT department and is responsible for the preparation and submission of clients’ VAT returns.
